In Avengers Endgame, Thor’s Mother said “Everyone fails at who they’re supposed to be. The measure of a person of a hero…is how well they succeed at being who they are”. (It’s kind of crazy I watched this the night after recording the podcast)
Basically what she is saying is that people choose a purpose before their passion. It is something that I have always tried to preach to people. Too often we pick our purpose or end goal before deciding what we love doing everyday.
I once had a goal/purpose I wanted to achieve because I thought it would help lots of people. What I failed to realize at the time was that I didn’t love the process of getting there. If I would have continued to live through this purpose then I would have been miserable throughout the process.
I now know that not only would I have been miserable but I would have limited my potential.
I want all of you to decide to pick your passion first and let that lead you to your potential and purpose.
Don’t Stretch Yourself Out To Far
Maybe you have decided to commit to your passion but you have alot of responsibilities. I am not here to tell you to just cut off everything that doesn’t align with your passion.
All I want you all to do is make sure you have enough time for your passion. Sometimes we can take on all of these opportunities for others while not prioritizing ourselves.
You will know if you are stretching yourself out to far. All I can tell you to do is to continue to evaluate yourself.
My last message to you all in this season is to be patient. Understand that you can’t “work a certain amount of hours” to find your passion. It will come when it’s time, all you can do is believe.
If you don’t truly believe it’s out there then it’s going to be hard for you to embrace it when it’s in front of your face.
I want all of you to know that I was once in your shoes. Questioning my life and where I am supposed to be in life. Honestly we are asked to define our purpose too early in life.
I just want all of you at the very least to focus on loving yourself. When you can decide to have self-love regardless of other people or circumstances…that’s when you have made it. That’s the most you could ever ask from yourself.
While I have been preaching to all of you that at the Root of Everything is passion…love is really at the root. All passion is…is love.
So be selfish enough to love yourself and everything else will fall in place.
